SECRET . These documents state the following.
“Coastal observation on the Irish Coast is carried out by The Coast Watching Service, with the assistance and co-operation of the Marine Service, the Maritime Inscription, Garda Siochana, Local Defence Forces, and Local Security Forces”.
“A continuous watch is maintained by the Coast Watching Service from Look-Out Posts (L.O.Ps) erected along the Coast Line”.
These documents cover in sections the Organisation, Sighting of LOPs, Personnel, Equipment and General.
G2 during WW2 was Irish Military Intelligence.
